Plastering and restoration projects
I have worked on many varied plastering and restoration projects over the years. Here's a just few examples of some of my work, both internal and external.
An expert plasterer, based in Thanet, East Kent, I offer high quality plastering for the home and commercial properties across East Kent. Solid plastering is the process of skimming walls and ceilings to a smooth finish ready for decorating while internal and external rendering uses sand and cement to prepare for finishing.
I specialise in the restoration of plasterwork, both the matching of decorative mouldings or reinstating period features to a property, using traditional techniques and materials (such as coal and crushed sea shells). Each restoration project has its own requirements such as grade listing or fire regulations, and I work with the client to recommend and use the appropriate materials best suited for the job. For specialist restoration projects, I work with clients across Kent and further afield in London and the remainder of the UK.
From my workshop, I produce detailed plaster mouldings, ready for fitting or where required, I create the mouldings on-site.

1. A reverse mould is run on the bench, using a trammel rod.

2. The mould run is ready for shellacking, much like a French polish finish.

3. The shellacked mould run.

4. The mould run with decorative rubber insert, ready to make the plaster piece.

5. A completed decorative plaster run fitted in place.

“Toni did an absolutely amazing job in matching our old Victorian plasterwork. It’s impossible to see what’s original and what is Toni’s work.”
